They may not have even believed that the Black Death was even reality. This is because they are all used to living such lavish and rich lives, they would never thinking a having such a horrible diesease.

Answer:

Every individual is different and I believe that some lords and ladies were completely terrified of the art during the Black Death plague. While, I also believe that some of the lords and ladies actually liked the "dark" and intense art from this time. It was a new style and exciting for some.
