Select the phrase from Mark Twain's essay, "The Person Sitting in
muminat

The correct answer is "There must be two Americas: one that sets the captive free, and one that takes a once captives new freedom away from him."

That is the phrase from  Mark Twain's essay, "The Person Sitting in Darkness," published in February of 1901, that best identifies Twain as an anti-imperialist.

Without a doubt, Mark Twain (1835-1910) is considered to be one of the best writers of the United States. In the case of this essay, it was published in the "North American Review." He used humor and satire in his arguments to expose imperialistic ideas of the time. Mark Twain also wrote two classic novels in the American literature: "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," and the "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn."

Read this excerpt from Anne Frank Remembered. Then he walked toward the back office where Mr. Kraler was working, leaving us alo
sashaice [31]

Answer:

The correct answer is letter D.

Explanation:

Anne Frank Remembered is a documentary produced in 1995 and it is 122 minutes long. Miep Gies was the woman who helped the family when they needed to hide during the Nazi Occupation during World War II.

Letter A is not correct because even though she could've reported the words, it does not add or build suspense. B and C are also incorrect just because they contribute to the last part, which is also the last option.

Withholding information about the outcome is the correct answer; even though readers could foresee the results, the speaker can create tension putting all the elements together (the reaction, the gun, the words) and not saying what is going to happen next.
