The best term that fits the blank provided above would be the word THEME and TOPIC. "Their Eyes Were Watching God" is actually a novel that was written by Zora Neale Hurston. And based on this novel, it centers on following one's dream. This serves as the main topic and theme of the novel. When we say theme, this is the topic or the subject matter that the events in the novel revolves around. Hope this helps.

Compare and contrast the literary techniques of allegory and ambiguity by offering a scenario to explain an instance where each
larisa86 [58]
An allegory is a literary technique that is somewhat like an extended metaphor and the goal of an allegory is to present a complex social problem by figurative meaning in order to grasp the full extent of the problem. A famous example of this can be the allegory of the cave as created by Plato where the idea of understanding the true nature of world is presented through people sitting in a dark cave. When they leave the cave, they are blinded by the sun but eventually they learn to see the world properly. He used this allegory because he believed that common people who don't work on themselves and only take things without thinking about them is similar to sitting in a dark cave and that illumination can be difficult but ultimately achieved.

Ambiguity is a literary technique that is used in order to present a plethora of different meanings without any meaning being the true one. It is great for trying to better explain issues that are not clearly presented as black and white. An example of this might be a debate on ethics and the nature of morality. Ambiguity can be used here because it is highly difficult to precisely and in a normative way to present what is good and what is bad and to describe why anything might be or might not be good or bad.

What can you conclude about the daughters, based on
gregori [183]

Answer:

They struggle to fit in.

They feel supported by their mother.

They embrace American culture.

Explanation:

The daughters are young girls who want to be free and experience new things. They know that their father is strict because he forbids the daughters to wander through. The character of the mother in the passage is written to describe her as an understandable woman who wants to satisfy her daughters. She is indulgent towards her daughters.

The daughters are young, cheerful and curious, but they have struggled to fit in. From the passage, readers can see that the girls have a problem in school. They are experiencing problems socially with their peers. They want to experience a new culture, they want to go to the shopping mall or to watch a movie.

Read the historical fact.
madam [21]

c.why there is tension between the two sides in the tournament.

It is important to know this fact about the time period because it helps to explain some of the characters' behaviors in the tournament. The tension is not simply because of the contest. It is more deeply rooted because of the tensions between the Saxons and the Normans. Tension between sides does not usually result in indifference so option a is definitely wrong. Lady Rowena is the queen of the day because she was chosen by the winning knight - not because of the tensions. Also, tensions would not cause someone to defer.
