The kingdom of Spain was the main colonizer for many SW states like California, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado etc.One influence was the language of Spanish so that many people in New Meyxico can speak Spanish. Another influence is the people. Since this was part of New Spain which became Mexico, there are many Mexican people who still work there and in the other US SW states  doing work which other Americans might not do like cleaning houses or being a maid or nanny. This, then effects the economy and some of the money they make is sent home to Mexico to their families.

Elijah Muhammad, a leader of the Nation of Islam, believed that..
Andreas93 [3]

Answer:

Elijah Muhammad, a leader of the Nation of Islam, believed that African Americans should assert themselves against white power.

Explanation:

Elijah Muhammad encouraged blacks to leave the Christian religion which, he explained, was a tool used by whites to oppress blacks. The teachings of Elijah Muhammad emphasized black nationalism and a self-sufficient economy. Both local mosques and individual members were encouraged to open their own businesses. The organization he led owned land and businesses, and had schools for children and adults.

In 1942 he was imprisoned for fomenting military insubordination among blacks. Upon his release in 1946 the Nation of Islam grew rapidly, especially in the sixties, when it survived a break between Muhammad and his disciple Malcolm X. Muhammad advocated an exclusive state for black Muslims.
