Answer:

What is legal vs. what is morally right.

Explanation:

Harriet Beecher Stowe's anti- slavery novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin" presents the image of what slaves had to endure, the hardships and the torture they were subjected to. It became a famous novel, showed a profound effect about the unjust treatment of slaves and "<em>helped lay the groundwork for the Civil war</em>".

Eliza and George had ran away, though initially not together at first. George had ran away much earlier. Then Eliza followed suit but not because she wanted to. Rather, she had to run away so as to save her son Harry from being sold to another master. In those days, selling of slaves was a common phenomenon and the parents have no say in it for they themselves belong to their masters. So, when George and Eliza ran away, they were hunted by the bounty hunters and even the police were involved. This is a reflection of the conflicts <em>between the themes of what is legally right and what is morally right</em>. The constables and the bounty hunters have the support of the law on their side even though it is morally wrong to make someone work forcefully or make them suffer. This shws the conflicting interests of the law and morality at its core.

Jackie is writing a speech that claims that students should sell fruit instead of candy for the school fundraiser. In her speech
nikdorinn [45]

She could argue that you don't need to sell the same thing every year and therefore, we could all try something different this year, not just candy.

She also could argue that candies are not healthy and it's time to distance ourselves from them for now.

The best argument that she could pull off would be, if that was really the case, if fruits were easier and more profitable to sell. By far, if that was the argument, they would all sell fruit easily.
