Answer:

B) The West Coast receives it's wind and weather patterns from the ocean, while the East Coast receives them from land.

Explanation:

The West Coast is directly exposed to the Cold California current, which, despite the name, moderates the climate, and prevents it from being either too cold or too hot. It's an effect similar to the Humboldt Current in South America.

The East Coast on the other had, is parallel to the Gulf Stream, wich starts in the Gulf of Mexico, passes by Florida, traverses the Bermuda Island, and contuines its way upwards until the Iberian Peninsula. But its influence over the Eastern United States is low.

The East Coast is therefore more exposed to continental conditons, which tend to be more extreme. Besides, in winter, it receives some Artic Winds, not as much as the Great Lakes area, but enough to make temperatures drop below freezing for much of the season.

ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer:

Convergent Evolution

Explanation:

Convergent evolution occurs when two unrelated species that have no common ancestor evolve independently in order to adapt to a similar environmental constraints to ensure survival.

An example of convergent evolution can be seen in birds, bats, flight/wing insects. They all do not share a common ancestor, but have evolved, separately, a similar structure for flight.

Another example can be seen in dolphins and sharks. These two different species share similar physical characteristics that make them adapt well in marine habitat that helps them to predate .

pickupchik [31]

Answer:

III. Condensation of chromosomes begins.

I. Synapsis occurs.

II. Crossing-over is completed.

IV. Separation of homologous chromosomes begins

Explanation:

The prophase I of meiosis I begins with the condensation of chromosomes. The process of compaction makes the individual chromosomes visible and the stage is called leptotene.

Leptotene is followed by zygotene of prophase I during which the homologous chromosomes are paired together. The process is mediated by the synaptonemal complex. As the homologous chromosomes are paired, each pair is visible as a tetrad as each of the chromosomes of a pair has two sister chromatids.

The exchange of part of chromatids occurs during crossing over. Crossing over is the event of the pachytene stage of prophase I. After crossing over, the homologous chromosomes begin to separate from each other during diplotene but stay paired at the points of crossing over. These points are called chiasmata. Diakinesis of prophase I is marked by the dissolution of chiasmata.

anygoal [31]

This seems to be the best answer: C. The data does not take into account underground growth and the actual area of fungus spread may be larger, so the original conclusion of the experiment is not accurate.
