We have a parallelogram ABCD and points X and Y that are placed such that BX = DY and CD ⊥ XY.Area ( BXYC ) = 71.5 sq. unitsThen the area of AXYD = BXYCArea ( ABCD ) = 2 * 71.5 = 143Answer:The area of ABCD is D ) 143 square units.

<u>Answer-</u>

The area of ABCD is 143 sq. units.

<u>Solution-</u>

Area \ of \ parallelogram \ ABCD= Base \times Height = AB \times XY \ or \ CD \times XY

(We can consider XY as height as it is perpendicular to CD)

Area \ of \ trapzium \ BXYC=\frac{1}{2}(sum \ of \ parallel \ sides)(Height)

and its area is given 71.5 sq. units.

\Rightarrow \frac{1}{2}(BX+YC)(XY)=71.5

We can replace BX as DY as BX ≅ DY is given,

\Rightarrow \frac{1}{2}(DY+YC)(XY)=71.5

And also CD= DY+YC,

\Rightarrow \frac{1}{2}(CD)(XY)=71.5

\Rightarrow (CD)(XY)=143

\Rightarrow Area \ of \ parallelogram \ ABCD=143

How are triangles different in spherical geometry as opposed to euclidean geometry?
Ivan
Euclidean geometry, is simply plane and solid geometry. It is named after the Greek mathematician, Euclid, when he proposed his five postulates which serve as basis of drawing plane and solid figures. So, in a nutshell, a triangle in Euclidean geometry is a two-dimensional figure composed of three sides and whose interior angles sum up to 180°. A triangle in spherical geometry, on the other hand, is a triangle formed by three arcs. Thus, it is three-dimensional, and the interior angles sum up to more than 180°. The difference is shown in the attached picture.

poizon [28]

Answer:

see below

Step-by-step explanation:

7,12,16,20,27,40,56,64

The square numbers are 16 = 4^2   and 64 = 8^2

The difference is 64 - 16 =48

The cube numbers are 27 = 3^3 and 64 = 4^3

64 - 27 =37
