Convection is a type of heat transfer of thermal energy when a fluid, such as air or a liquid, is heated . Heat energy is transferred from hot places to cooler places.

The following statements best describe convection:

Convection occurs in liquids and gases.

Convection transfers thermal energy.

Convection occurs until all of the fluid is at the same temperature.

The convection takes place in the gases and liquids for the transfer of thermal energy. It requires the same temperature throughout the fluid for energy transfer.

Further explanation:

The transfer of heat as a result of the movement of large proportions of molecules together within the fluids is called convection. The fluids can be both gases or liquids. It does not occur in solid particles as the mass movement of current as well as the diffusion of matter is not seen in solids. The process of convection involves non-directional energy transfer called diffusion and bulk flow of heat in a particular direction.

The thermal energy moves through convection and is produced when the molecules or atoms move within the fluid. It can be explained by keeping a glass of liquid with a heat source. The change in temperature can be observed as the warmer water moves towards the cooler areas, maintaining even temperature throughout the liquid.

The mechanism by which heat is transferred due to the bulk movement of molecules is called convective heat transfer. Heat is being carried and dispersed, and therefore, is an object of interest. Convection can be seen on a large scale in the oceans and the atmosphere. It is also used as method of heat transfer between the sun and the stars.

valkas [14]

Answer: Regulation of activity by higher brain centers.

Explanation: The autonomic nervous system is part of the peripheral nervous system and is responsible for involuntary actions that occur without control, such as breathing and heart rate.

The somatic nervous system is also part of the peripheral nervous system but is responsible for the transmission of signals to the skeletal muscles and from receptors of external stimuli.

The peripheral nervous system regulates systems such as the nerves and ganglia that are found outside of the brain and spinal cord. Thus the autonomic and somatic nervous systems differ, but both are not involved in the regulation of activity by higher brain centers.

How is loess beneficial? It grows healthy crops. It prevents wind erosion. It protects land from waves. It decreases the slope o
Arturiano [62]

The correct answer is option A, It grows healthy crops.

Because the loess soil is very fertile due to its ability to exchange cations and porosity.

Due to cation exchange capacity the plants easily absorbs nutrients from the soil and due to porosity the soil holds the water, oxygen and nutrients which is absorbed by the roots of the plants for their nourishment.

Cells are categorized as either prokaryotic or eukaryotic. classify the characteristics below as being unique to prokaryotic cel
dezoksy [38]
Prokaryotic cells: lack membrane-bound organelles, relatively small - typically less than 10 μm in size.

Both cell types: use ribosomes to synthesize proteins, contain DNA.

Eukaryotic cells: complete copy of DNA stored in multiple chromosomes.

In particular, prokaryotic cells have no nucleus and no membrane-bound organelles, therefore their ribosomes float freely intracellularly. On the other hand, eukaryotic cells have nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. Also, their DNA is bound to proteins and stored in the form of chromosomes in the nucleus.

The grades of a science test are normally distributed. Thanh finds that his grade on the test has a z-score of –2.5. Which of th
Tom [10]

The right answer is Thanh's grade is 2.5 standard deviations below the mean of the test grades.

The z scores are standard deviations. If, for example, a tool returns a z score of +2.5, it means that the result is a standard deviation of 2.5.

Very high or very low (negative) z scores associated with very low p values are at the ends of the normal distribution.
