The blood pressure of the patient in the emergency department is: 82/40. 82/40 is not a normal blood pressure.<span> O</span>ptimum blood pressure for the patient should be 120/80. So, I should <span>give the patient some medication to treat his low blood pressure. I could use the drug midodrine (Orvaten) , for example, to raise my patient's blood pressure. This drug restricts the ability of the blood vessels to expand and by doing so it raises the blood pressure.</span>
