Lyndon B. Johnson became the 36th President of the United Staes of America after the death of President John F. Kennedy. Among the public policies he supported, he dedicated numerous resources to the war on poverty and was an advocate for the civil rights movements.

However, he faced opposition from many Democrats who stood against the ongoing war in Vietnam. President Johnson dramatically increased the number of personnel in Vietnam from 16,000 units in 1963 to 525,000 in 1967. This is why many Democrats nowadays prefer to not be associated with President Lyndon B. Johnson.

Explain how debt slavery made rubber merchants rich.
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

Debt slavery, also called debt servitude, debt bondage, or debt peonage, a state of indebtedness to landowners or merchant employers that limits the autonomy of producers and provides the owners of capital with cheap labour. Examples of debt slavery, indentured servitude, peonage, and other forms of forced labour exist around the world and throughout history, but the boundaries between them can be difficult to define (see slavery). It is instructive to consider one prevalent system of debt slavery as a means of identifying the characteristics typical of the condition. This article therefore describes the system that existed among sharecroppers and landowners in the American South from the 1860s until World War II.

<span>1. The eventual election of Andrew Jackson lead to acceptance of the common man. Once you get through the biography Andrew Jackson, you will definitely get to know that his period of being a president is called the Era of the Rise of the Common Man. Even though he considered himself as a 'common man', he made the most powerful office in the three branches of government out of office of president. He was a wise man with strong political issues.
2) Increased suffrage and the development of new political parties in the early 1800s indicate expansion of democracy. States decided not to deal with the suffrage and just let everything go with a flow, causing a wave of new democracy. In 1820's many white males won the right to vote that made parties be more organized which completely changed the previous democracy.<span>

The correct answer is B. Massachusetts

After the first settlers arrived at the New World by crossing the Atlantic Ocean fishing and therefore shipbuilding became an important part of the economy for all of the colonies, but especially for Massachusetts. This can be explained as the geographical conditions of this area made agriculture difficult and also Cape Cod located in Massachusetts became an important point of fishing multiple species including cod, tuna, mackerel, among others. Also, during the colonies time, Massachusetts was one of the most important colonies and the considered as the center of New England. Thus, it was Massachusetts the colony that was mainly affected by the development of shipbuilding and cod fishing industries.
