Answer:

This would increase the flexibility of the membrane.

Explanation:

Studies with isolated plasma membranes reveal that their most abundant components are phospholipids, cholesterol and proteins. These biological membranes are fluid like liquid paraffin. Cholesterol is one of the responsible for this cell membrane fluidity. This is because cholesterol molecules prevent carbon chains from interacting potently - which would result in a gelatinous state of the membrane. Therefore, we can conclude that if cholesterol forms weak attractive forces with multiple phospholipids in the bilayer, this increases membrane flexibility.

Flexibility decreases of the membrabe because even though they are forming with weak forces when they are added together they are still strong if cholesterol forms a weak attractive force with multiple phospholipids in the bilayer. In relation to membrane function, homeostasis membrane which contains water oxygen carbon dioxide concentration. the middle part sections of embedded protein chains have amino acids with hydrophobic r groups. The organic functional groups in a phospholipid molecule are amine phosphate methyl carbonyl. The phospholipid molecules main to the compartmentalization of a cell by the polar part of the phospholipid that becomes inside the cell and distributes it up.

Which of these conditions indicate positive feedback has occurred?
aleksklad [387]

Answer;

A) Blood pressure decreases greatly; blood flow to the heart is inadequate, and blood pressure decreases.

Explanation;

-With negative feedback, the output reduces the original effect of the stimulus. While in a positive feedback system, the output enhances the original stimulus.

-Negative feedback is the most commonly used feedback loop in the body. Negative feedback is used to negate or counteract a stimulus without completely eradicating it.

-One key difference between the two feedback is that positive feedback loops are used to eradicate a stimulus. Another key difference is that responses through positive feedback become more amplified over time. So once a stimulus activates a positive feedback loop it is not turned off until the stimulus is completely removed.

Rachel's behavior provides an example of Hypochondriasis. Hypochondriasis is a condition in which a person is inordinately worried about having a serious illness. It is often characterized by fears that minor bodily or mental symptoms may indicate a serious illness, constant self-examination and self-diagnosis, and a preoccupation with one's body.

NARA [144]
Psoriasis is a skin disease that manifests itself in symptoms of varying severity. It is a chronic disease that can not be cured but can be alleviated by many treatments (like chemotherapy).
Photochemotherapy: also called P-UVA. It consists of the combination of UVA (a type of UV light) radiation after the local or oral administration of a psoralen that acts as a sensitizing photo. It is used alternately in patients for whom UVB (another type of UV) has no effect, as P-UVA is more effective and longer-lasting, but is associated with basiloma (basal cell carcinoma) and melanoma.

Dangerous decreases in respiration, heart rate, and body temperature typically begin with a BAC of approximately __________ .
liberstina [14]

Answer: c. 0.15%

Explanation:

The blood alcohol concentration or BAC refers to the percentage of alcohol present in the bloodstream. The value of blood alcohol concentration of 0.15% is very high. It will affect the balance of voluntary muscles, walking and talking will also become difficult. The person will experience a severe increase in the rate of heart, the body temperature will rise, the person will experience irregular breathing and the bladder control will become weak.

Blood flow (liter/min) through the pulmonary circuit equals blood flow through the systemic circuit, but pulmonary resistance is
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

The number of liters, or amount of blood that circulates through all the systems of the human body is always a constant one. However, how much of the total amount of blood in the human body passes through the two major circuits (systemic and pulmonary) depends not just on the volume of blood, but also on other factors such as the size of the vessels through which the blood flows and the amount of muscular layers, or any form of tissue, that will offer resistance to that flow. Because pulmonary vessels are smaller in size, and because the need for speed in flow in that circuit is not paramount, as its purpose is to load oxygen and unload CO2 to the lungs, the mean pressure is smaller thain in the systemic flow.

Using, however, the equation on the question, to prove that mean pulmonary blood pressure is 5 times less than that of systemic blood pressure, we would have the following:

1. F= pressure/ systemic resistance

2. Flow= pulmonary flow.

3. Systemic resistance = 5x pulmonary resistance

4. Systemic pressure/ systemic resistance = pulmonary pressure/ pulmonary resistance.

5. Systemic presure x pulmonary resistance/ (5x pulmonary resistance) = Pulmonary pressure.

6. Pulmonary pressure= systemic pressure/5
