Let

x---------> represent the number of miles Troy's has driven

y--------> represent the amount of gas in Troy's truck

we know that

the equation that represents the amount of gas, y, in troy' s truck after driving a certain number of miles, x is

y-y1=m*(x-x1)

where

m is the slope---------> \frac{gallon}{miles}

in this problem the slope is equal to -\frac{1}{21} \frac{gallons}{miles}

it's negative because the tank is going to be consumed

assuming he starts with a full tank

for\ x=0\ y=30\  gal

substitute in the formula above

y-y1=m*(x-x1)\\\\ y-30=-\frac{1}{21}*(x-0)\\\\ y=-\frac{x}{21}+30

therefore

the answer is

the equation y=-\frac{x}{21}+30

Given that <span>Troy's truck has a 30 gallon gas tank and gets an average of 21 miles per gallon.

Let x represent the number of miles Troy's has driven and let y represent the amount of gas in Troy's truck, then the equation that represents the amount of gas, y, in troy' s truck after driving a certain number of miles, x, (assuming he starts with a full tank) is given by

y = 30 - x/21

Alia wants to write the equation of the graphed line in point-slope form. These are the steps she plans to use:
baherus [9]
(2,5)(1,3)
slope(m) = (3 - 5) / (1 - 2) = -2/-1 = 2 (2 units up, one unit to the right)

y - y1 = m(x - x1)....using (1,3)
y - 3 = 2(x - 1)....talia's last step is incorrect because she didn't sub in her slope of 2

The ratio of the lengths of the sides of △ABC is 3:6:7. M, N, and K are the midpoints of the sides. Perimeter of △MNK equals 7.4
artcher [175]

Answer:

AB=2.775

BC=5.55

CA=6.475

Step-by-step explanation:

Since midpoints split their sides in half, we can see that the triangle MNK formed by the midpoints will be half the perimeter of the triangle ABC. Since P of MNK = 7.4, we know that the perimeter of ABC = 7.4 * 2, which is 14.8. Now we can split the 14.8 so that it follows the ratio.

3+6+7=16

14.8/16=0.925

AB=0.925*3=2.775

BC=0.925*6=5.55

CA=0.925*7=6.475
