The two words to be highlighted are: weary and wasted.

In this context weary means that the pilgrim is tired, exhausted, that he has depleted his strength and needs a place to rest, a place to call home.

The second word, wasted, in this context means that the pilgrim´s limbs, his arms and legs, are also exhausted from walking the path to a new land that he can call his own.

Answer:

Outreach

Explanation:

The three options provided are types of people i.e "children", "elderly", and "homeless". So, the fourth element too should be a type of people. Hence, "Finances", and "Conservation" are eliminated.

Out of "Students" and "Outreach", "outreach" would be better option;

Firstly because, children (age), elderly (age) homeless (location), and then fourth too should be about location i.e. "Outreach"

Secondly, because "students" is a sort of occupation, children may also be students. So, "Students" does not fit well with the three provided options.

Which of the following sentences uses a colon correctly?
Tomtit [17]
The correct answer is C. The first example cannot be correct because the colon simply doesn't fit there - a comma would fit better. The second one is also incorrect as you don't need to put a colon after every word, just once before the first word. The last example also doesn't need a colon, you can just enumerate these various states without the use of colon. So naturally, we are left with only one option, and that is C.

zavuch27 [327]

Answer:

It shows the feeling of pride in her family and culture.

Explanation:

Sonia Maria Sotomayor was the first Latina Justice of the US Supreme Court. Her speech "A Latina Judge's Voice" reveals her life and struggles that she'd gone through to become who she is today.

In the given excerpt from her speech, she talks of her immigrant parents, and how grateful she was for the upbringing her parents gave her and her brother. She also proudly declared <em>"The story of that success is what made me and what makes me the Latina that I am. The Latina side of my identity was forged and closely nurtured by my family through our shared experiences and traditions."</em> By emphasizing her <em>"Latina"</em> blood and heritage, Justice Sotomayor <u>expressed her deep feeling of pride in her family's background and culture.</u>
