A theme of acceptance, perhaps.

The author is clearly trying to say that there is a prize for those who are willing to look beyond first impressions, although in real life the prize might be more of a metaphor. This idea is not unusual in literature and has taken many different forms, but it is a classic nonetheless.

Questions 13–18: Identify each of the italicized clauses in the sentences below as either restrictive or nonrestrictive. Rewrite
Kryger [21]

Answer:

Even though the question doesn't bring options, it is possible to understand and explain the concepts.

Explanation:

A nonrestrictive phrase is the one that requires information that is not strictly essential for the complete sentence, meaning that the main sentence would be complete even if this part were not written. They are indicated with commas (one or two, according to the position in the sentence.) An example would be "His brother, who plays football, is a great student."

A restrictive clause is an essential part of the sentence. If it is not there, the sentence seem to be incomplete or vague, so they must be in the sentence and commas are not required. An example would be "My mom brought the chicken that she cooked to the party."
