The poem by Billy Collins describes how a person forgets certain stuff, generally considered with learning. The author introduces the novel as an example that how it is going to be forgotten piece by piece after certain times. Applying personification in the third stanza in the example of planets and irony in the last stanza where the author concludes that the memory is bound to forget even if you try to remember and not to forget. The lines the memories you used to harbor decided to retire to the southern hemisphere of the brain, have got a humorous tone. The author makes an humorous reference to the memory and recalling function of the left brain that it is no longer functioning anymore. The correct answer is A.

What do paragraphs
mars1129 [50]

Answer:

B) He understands that the other men in town will never stand up to him.

Explanation:

Zora Neale Hurston's "Spunk" revolves around life in Eatonville, Florida where Spunk, the main protagonist of the story is involved in an affair with Lena Kanty, the wife of Joe Kanty. the story covers the incident where Spunk shot Joe and killed him.

Paragraphs 30-36 covers the scene where Joe was killed and what led to it. But more importantly, it also reveals how people perceive Spunk. They are all aware of the affair and would express disdain, but at the same time, they couldn't say anything in his face. Moreover, even after they know for sure that he had killed Joe, they could do nothing but talk about it. This shows how the other men in town don't seem to be brave enough to stand up to him.

Thus, the correct answer is option B.

The snacks belong to my brother’s friends. The snacks are theirs or his
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

The snacks are theirs.

Explanation:

You said "my brother's". Let's think of this like groups. That means you and your brother are included into one group and his friends are in the other. If you and your brother are in a group, it wouldn't make sense to say they're his. It'd be theirs because his friends are in the other group and it's their candy.

I hope this helps you!
