What does this excerpt from the beginning of F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story "Winter Dreams" tell readers about Dexter's motiv

ations as a character?
He became a golf champion and defeated Mr. T. A. Hedrick in a marvellous match played a hundred times over the fairways of his imagination, a match each detail of which he changed about untiringly—sometimes he won with almost laughable ease, sometimes he came up magnificently from behind. Again, stepping from a Pierce-Arrow automobile, like Mr. Mortimer Jones, he strolled frigidly into the lounge of the Sherry Island Golf Club—or perhaps, surrounded by an admiring crowd, he gave an exhibition of fancy diving from the spring-board of the club raft. . . . Among those who watched him in open-mouthed wonder was Mr. Mortimer Jones.
A. Dexter dreams of upstaging Mortimer Jones at golf and gaining his admiration.
B. Dexter dreams of becoming a champion golfer and buying an expensive automobile with the winnings.
C. Dexter dreams of being admitted into high society and gaining its admiration.
D. Dexter dreams of befriending Mortimer Jones so he can convince him to give him a job.
E. Dexter dreams of impressing Mortimer Jones so he can borrow his automobile.

Read the excerpt from chapter 6 of Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy.

I am quite sure that she revealed her belief through her words. During the little dialogue scene where she runs on with what appears to be a conversation between her and Mrs Cobb, her words seem to give off a sense of discomfort.

I may be wrong here, but hopefully, you can see why I'm leaning towards this possibility! =)

By cleverly alluding to the Declaration of Independence and by telling about his dream for his children, King shows that he is a
Sidana [21]

Answer:

"cleverly" and "is an expert"

Explanation:

"Subjective expressions" are words, phrases or even sentences that makes a statement biased. It is a person's personal thought about an event, a situation, another person and so on.

In the sentence above, the words "cleverly" and "is an expert" are both subjective expressions. The reader doesn't know what it means to "cleverly allude." The writer's way of cleverly alluding might be different from the reader. So, it goes the same way with the phrase, "is an expert." The writer personally thinks that King is expressing himself to be an expert. It is only a personal opinion and not a fact.

Both of the expressions are just according to the writer's feelings and thoughts.
