Proteins and nucleic acids both play vital roles in the structure and function of cells. Part A: Describe the monomers that make

up both macromolecules, in detail. (2 points) Part B: Compare and contrast the functions of both proteins and nucleic acids in the cell. (2 points)
Part A: Explain how Enzyme A acts as a catalyst in the reaction. Be sure to include energy and time in your answer. (2 points)

Part B: Conditions around an enzyme change and affect the shape of the enzyme's active sites. Predict how an increase in temperature might affect the enzyme's ability to catalyze the reaction. (2 points)

A) proteins are made of amino acids ( if you want to describe it more you can talk about the central dogma, dna to mRNA then mRNA to amino acids and amino acids to proteins. and you can talk about the structures of dna, primary secondary tertiary quaternary). nucleic acids are made of nucleotides ( cytosine (C), thymine (T), adenine (A), guanine (G))

A scientist wants to determine which fertilizer is more effective—Fertilizer X or Fertilizer Y. The best way for her to proceed
tamaranim1 [39]
C because we are testing the effectiveness of Fertilizer X and Y and using no fertilizer can help determine if that would be better than using a fertilizer. Additionally, a control group of no fertilizer would be the third plant as that is considered normal for the experiment. Msg me for any more questions

Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

Option D

Explanation:

Options for the question

A)import seeds produced in the southern hemisphere.

B)plant the flowers out-of doors in november.

C)keep the plants in a warm growing environment.

D)expose the plants to an hour of light in the middle of each night until the end of april.

Solution

Since Chrysanthemum is a short-day plant, its flower mainly develop during night and hence they require long nights of 11 to 12 hours. Blackout system is sometimes used to induce flowering.Flowering can be delayed by regulating both light and temperature. this is done by exposing plants for a short period of time to light (can be artificial) and to some source of heat that produces 85° F or higher temperature.

Thus if flowers are required in month of may, flowering can be delayed by exposing Chrysanthemums plant to light and heat source during night time

Option D is correct

A researcher interested in predicting patterns of helping behavior using the concept of inclusive fitness would want to know ___
Kazeer [188]

Answer:

d. how much genetic material you share with someone you might help

Explanation:

In family groups or populations there are certain behaviors that might have possitive effects on other individual´s fitness. These behavior are known as prosocial.

<u>Prosocial behavior</u> requires cooperation among individuals that are helping each other. Although sometimes this might implicate a sacrifice of the one that provides the help, in a long-term period the whole group will be beneficiated.

Altruist actions occur when one of the organisms help another one.

To explain these behaviors, Hamilton proposed an explanation for altruism as <u>"inclusive fitness"</u> (1964). According to this, <em>an organism might help another one if this helps beneficiate its genes, that are shared with the organisms that receive help</em>. The concept of inclusive fitness links the evolution of altruism with blood relationship. This means that helping relatives increases the reproductive success of the helping individual, as its genes are represented in the beneficiated relatives. Altruist acts occur to favor close relatives.

The inclusive fitness concept points to the strategy of an organism to ensure the maintenance of its genetic material in the population for a long period of time, even if it requires some kind of harm for itself or is in its detriment.

In organisms that reproduce sexually, in general, help is directed to the progeny, although it is not always like this.

Phosphorus cycles between living things and the SOIL

Explanation:

Phosphorus flows in a cycle within rocks, water, soil and sediments, and organisms. The phosphorus cycle is the biogeochemical cycle that represents the action of phosphorus within the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. Phosphorus is an essential element for all sorts of life. As phosphate (PO4), it delivers up an essential part of the structural core that holds DNA and RNA mutually.
