Parallel

In a parallel arrangement, the length of the fascicles runs parallel to the long axis of the muscle. Such muscles are either straplike like the sartorius muscle of the thigh, or spindle shaped with an extended belly, like the biceps brachii muscle of the arm. However, some scientists classify spindle-shaped muscles into a separate class asfusiform muscles.

Pennate

in a pennate pattern, the fascicles are short and they attach obliquely to a central tendon that runs the length of the muscle. Pennate muscles come in three forms:

Unipennate, in which the fascicles insert into only one side of the tendon, as in the extensor digitorum longus muscle of the leg. Bipennate, in which the fascicles insert into the tendon from opposite sides so the muscle “grain” resembles a feather.
The rectus femoris of the thigh is bipennate. Multipennate, which looks like many feathers side by side, with all their quills inserted into one large tendon. The deltoid muscle, which forms the roundness of the shoulder is multipennate.

Pretend scientist discover an enzyme in the human body that works best at 39 degrees Celsius. What process would this enzyme mos
Ymorist [56]

Answer:

The normal body temperature for humans is 37 degrees Celsius. Most of the enzymes of a human's bodywork best at this temperature. If an enzyme was discovered which works best at 39 degrees Celsius, then it means that the enzyme works at elevated temperatures for events which require slightly higher temperatures.

The enzyme will most probably work for overcoming fever or for reducing the temperature of the body after exercise.

In a PCR reaction, a few seconds at high temperature disrupts the ____ that hold the two strands of DNA together, so every molec
Andrews [41]

Answer:

Hydrogen Bonds

Explanation:

In the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) the temperature rises to 90 ° C - 95 ° C, to break the hydrogen bonds, which are the types of bonds responsible for pairing the two strands of DNA, this process is known as denaturation of DNA.

The DNA is extremely stable, due to a large number of bonds (hydrogen bonds) that form between the two strands. If the temperature decreases, these bonds will begin to recompose, until the DNA returns to its original state

Bumek [7]

Answer:

25%

Explanation:

Following a cross between Ttbb and ttBb, the resulting offspring would be:

TtbB , TtbB , Ttbb , Ttbb , ttbB , ttbB , ttbb , ttbb , TtbB , TtbB , Ttbb , Ttbb , ttbB , ttbB , ttbb , ttbb

To have a clearer idea, see the attached image.

Of the 16 possible combinations from this dihybrid cross, there will be:

4 tall plants with blue flowers

4 tall plants with white flowers

4 short plants with blue flowers

4 short plants with white flowers

There are 4 possible genotypic recombinations that would yield short plants with white flowers out of a possible 16, so the chance that the offspring will be short with white flowers would be 4/16 which is 1/4 or 25%

Hope this helps

when lions pick off the slowest members of the herd they are hunting why is it beneficial to the group as a whole?
pav-90 [236]
If lions attack the slowest animal in a herd, it is beneficial to the herd in the following ways:

1.) Evolutionarily, the faster herd members survive and breed, increasing the speed of the offspring and guaranteeing better survival for the future population.
2.) The lions focus on the straggling animal, allowing the rest of the herd to escape.
3.) The death of one herd member ensures the survival of many more.
