Read this excerpt from Leah Missbach Day’s foreword to Wheels of Change. In efforts to restart the lives of those devastated by

the crushing waves of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, my husband, F. K. Day, and I founded World Bicycle Relief (WBR). WBR works to provide access to independence and livelihood through the power of bicycles. During our work in Sri Lanka in 2005-2006, we put more than 24,000 new bicycles into the hands of those rebuilding their lives. Since 2006, we have moved into Africa where we currently work in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Kenya addressing oppressive poverty and the AIDS pandemic by mobilizing volunteer caregivers, students, and entrepreneurs with bicycles.
What is the central idea of the excerpt?
A. WBR was founded in an attempt to assist the victims of a tsunami in 2004
B. WBR believes that bicycles can transform lives by providing independence
C. WBR has moved its headquarters to Africa, where health problems prevail.
D. WBR gives bicycles to everyone struggling with social and health issues.

Which is the best conclusion about clara and sylvester's relationship in "gumption"?
Ksivusya [100]
Sylvester and Clara had a mix of insecurity and disbelief. In the story, Sylvester, like the other men of the town, considers Oyster’s actions to have
been excessive. Meanwhile, Clara feels that Sylvester should follow Oyster’s example and “go get some ‘gumption’” or have some courage to demand equality. However, Sylvester believes that “you can’t live on gumption,” proven by the Oyster family’s present state. The jobs that the men already had were low status, and barely earned them sufficient pay. If Sylvester were to protest anything he feels is not right, he would be risking his home and everything he has worked for. Sylvester did not believe that he should jeopardize what he has to proclaim what he should have.
