Which excerpt best exemplifies the gothic literary style?
Semenov [28]
A.) He approached the temple. As he went forward the light retired, and, when he put his feet within the apartment, utterly vanished. The suddenness of this transition increased the darkness that succeeded in a tenfold degree. Fear and wonder rendered him powerless. An occurrence like this, in a place assigned to devotion, was adapted to intimidate the stoutest heart.

How would delivering a speech at a political rally differ from writing an academic paper, even if both the speech and the paper
Citrus2011 [14]
Well the target audiences are very different, because at the political party the speaker is trying to persuade the audience to agree with him/her where as the target audience for the academic paper are trying to tech their audience on the topic, also the thesis is more clearly stated in the academic paper.

Which of these is a poetic device Walt Whitman often uses to emphasize certain ideas in his poems?
Furkat [3]

Answer:

Hi!

The answer to your question is letter B, Alliteration.

Explanation:

So to start, we should know that alliteration is a writing technique that relies on how words sound in relation to each other. Because of this, you see the same letter or sounds at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words.

As an example we can see the poem "I Hear America Singing" from Walt Whitmant. In it, the autor includes the word singing 11 times in the 11 times on the poem. This is an example of alliterarion and the answer to this.

Interpret (a) In “Blind,” what does the speaker mean by “He told her that the soul can transcend earthly life / If freed from th
Digiron [165]

Answer:

In lines 10–11 the speaker is referring to the importance of interpreting what is being read. On lines 20–21, the speaker shows that reading interpretation promotes knowledge and that knowledge is often a handicap for the soul.

Explanation:

In lines 10–11 the speaker is referring to the need that people have to interpret and understand what is being read, this is because if a person just reads, he is stuck with earthly life, he is limited to an environment, contained. However, the interpretation of reading makes the individual see beyond words and let go of this limitation.

However, once the reading has been interpreted, the individual gains knowledge, becomes detached from ignorance and is able to see things he did not see before. The problem is that this is often a disadvantage, showing that ignorance was a paradise, which was lost with the arrival of knowledge. This can be seen on lines 20–21.

Which of the following is an action taken during the editing process? A. Replacing specific examples with general statements B.
Mrac [35]
In my opinion, the answer is D, varying sentence lengths. Meaning that you should have simple, compound, and complex sentences, and vary them. Because you should always have specific examples, not general statements. Cliches should be avoided. And paragraph indentation isn't the crucial element in a paper.
