I believe that it was important for artists to create such realistic interpretations in order for them to relate to the audience. People will react more favorably to art they can relate to somehow, art that engages their thoughts and imagination, and art that makes them feel certain emotions when presented with it.

I do believe the role of the artists has changed considerably. In the past, the artist used to create art for him/herself, and express what they were feeling at the time. Now I think artists try to create art for their audience, creating something they think the audience will like, and not take into consideration their own feelings and thoughts.

Assess the role of the Crusades played in the development of Romanesque art
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

Romanesque architecture is an architectural style that was popularly known by its semi-circular arches in ancient Europe

It refers to the type of art in Europe from the 10th century to the prominence of Gothic art in the 13th century.

The Romanesque style was the first to be used by the Roman Catholics in Europe. Their buildings were of the highest quality, had thick walls, tall towers, and symmetrical plans amongst others.

The Crusades helped influence migration which resulted in the trade boom which involved fortification of buildings and they also provided arms, The continued migration helped to make building designs similar and brought a recognizable Romanesque style.

One of the surviving buildings that had fortifications made by the Crusades is the city of Carcassonne.

Examine the piece above. What is the subject matter in this piece? What is the content?
Drupady [299]

Answer:

Please see Explanation.

Explanation:

The subject matter is a view at the edge of a forest, into a clearing, at dusk or dawn, though the mood is of sunset. The clearing opens into a dirt path or road that is more than a game trail, leading down past the lake or pond, up to a manor or walled castle keep. The pond is reflecting the light from the sunset, bringing about the notion that darkness will be upon the view in a short time. The cirrus clouds, wispy with a bit of wind, indicate the weather may be cold or becoming colder, perhaps in the season of Fall.

The content includes several types of trees including what appear to be a few evergreens and several deciduous trees. In the near distance, there are some shorter trees that may be shrubs. Sprigs of grass and other small plants are shown at the base of the trees. The dirt road brings about the notion that this is a scene from the past, such that the walled castle keep is in current use. The content includes clouds that appear to be showing the oncoming cold. There are rocky appearing mountains in the distance. The observer is at the edge of forrest, overlooking the road, curving around to the castle keep.
