We have discussed how characters in the play live in their own "worlds." Each character has a perception of the way things are a

nd particular ideas of how things should turn out. The conflict of the play is caused by these "worlds" failing to line up with each other (Capulet, for example, tries to impose his world on Juliet through threats and bullying. He wants the play to end as a comedy, with Juliet marrying Paris.). If this is the case, whose world "wins" in the end? Here are the finalists:
(Prince Escalus: He wanted to restore order and he got his way.
Juliet: She had suicidal desires throughout the play and she got her ending.
Friar Laurence: The families were reconciled, which is why he married Romeo and Juliet to begin with. No one: The loss for everyone was too great.)

Choose one or more finalists and defend your answer in complete sentences. You must also explain why non-winners lost.

I'll vote for Prince Escalus.

He wanted an orderly, peaceful, prosperous Verona.

If it takes the death of two kids to get that, then that's how it is.

His political world is bigger than their romantic one, and deals with much more important things.

Which term most clearly describes a medium? rhetoric magazine hoax or stance
Nikolay [14]

Answer:

Magazine

Explanation:

I'm assuming the question has to do with The term that most clearly describes a medium of communication.

With that in mind, the correct answer is magazine because it a written medium of communication where texts, pictures and articles are written down to pass information to the reader about something.

The other options, rhetoric, hoax and stance are in no way directly related to an effective medium of communication.

nikitadnepr [17]

Answer:

The character of Lady Bracknell was seen in a way that she represents British aristocracy. Wilde expresses her snobbishness and hypocrisy when Jack refuses Cecily and Algy to marry if Bracknell doesn't let him marry Gwendolen. Lady Bracknell refuses, showing her standing by and embracing the principles of British aristocracy.

Read the excerpt from "Ship's Chronometer from HMS Beagle” and consider the accompanying image.
suter [353]

The correct answer is "The image aids readers' understanding of key concepts". A nautical chronometer made by Thomas Earnshaw is now in the British Museum. It was used in the ship that carried Charles Darwin on his voyage around the world as part of the equipment of HMS Beagle. It was not the first chronometers, but it was the first lower-cost chronometers. It was brass and it was around the size of a large pocket watch.
