Explain how gravitational contraction, radioactivity, and asteroid and meteorite bombardment heated early earth

The surface of the early Earth is often described as hellish by scientists. The high temperature is primarily attributed to the high levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the molten rock on the surface of the planet. However, these two aren't the only factors in play.
Another factor that contributed to the extremely high temperature of the early earth is radioactivity. Radioactive decay of the isotopes found underground plus the left over heat from the formation of our planet produced high levels of radiogenic heat.
There's also the kinetic energy from falling asteroids and meteorites. Massive amounts of energy in the form of heat and sound is produced when asteroids and meteorites hit the Earth. Also, the pressure waves that travel radially outwards the center of the impact is similar to the impact of an atom bomb. As such, dust particles envelop the atmosphere, trapping the heat from the impact.
The last factor is the gravitational contraction, it contributed to the hellish temperature of primordial Earth because the energy generated from such event is enough to trigger hydrogen fusion.

Black mice and tan mice are native species that are observed in a particular region. Human habitation in the region caused an in
4vir4ik [10]

Answer:

A

Explanation:

The correct answer would be that the availability of food resources for black mice and brown mice will decrease.

Since the food requirements of the black mice are the same as that of the invasive brown mice, the available food supply that used to be only for the black mice would now be shared by the two strains of mice. Hence, the available food for the two groups of mice will naturally decrease.

There is no sufficient information to conclude that the population of tan mice will decrease, hence, option B is incorrect.

The black mice and tan mice have different food requirements going by the information available in the illustration, hence, both cannot compete for food resources. Option C is, therefore, incorrect. In the same vein, option D is incorrect because the tan mice have different food requirements from the brown mice.

The only correct option is A.

According to the theory of plate tectonics, which is one feature that plates carry?
Phoenix [80]

Answer:

seafloor

Explanation:

 • A plate, often described as a lithospheric plate, with seafloor, continents and mountains on top of it.
 • The earth is divided into three layers based on their chemical composition. Undoubtedly, there is a component called the lithosphere.
 • The lithosphere consists of a crust and a portion of a solid upper mantle.
 • Below the lithosphere is the asthenosphere.
 • There are two types of crusts: the continental crust and the oceanic crust.
 • Where there is a seabed there is a sea crust.
 • Mountains are also found in oceanic and continental crusts.
 • The intercontinental layer corresponds to the continents.

The answer is D. Meadow animals that eat plants and plant products.
This is because the rabbits are primary consumers, which means they eat autotrophs. Other animals that eat plants like rabbits do would be on the same trophic level as them.
