Answer:  Gothic literature is spooky, mysterious, focuses on the supernatural, and is disturbing. Transcendental literature focuses on idealists who found truth in the natural world, while gothic literature focuses on the dark side of human nature. Transcendental literature reflects on idealism and optimism about the natural world. Both are varieties of American Romanticism that have to do with human nature.

<u><em>Exploration of topic on race and gender by Kate Chopin and Anna Julia in "Desire Baby" and "The Higher Education of Women":</em></u>

Kate Choplin’s ‘Desiree’s baby’ revolves around a young woman Desiree who marries a young man after he offers a great deal of wealth. He considers her as his possession and also doubts her for his cursed fate of having a brown child.

However, the twisted end reveals that his mother was from the ‘brown’ lineage, yet his father loved them both no matter what unlike him. He discriminated his wife and child as he thought their ‘brown’ lineage would bring him shame and rejection.

‘The Higher Education of Women’ is an essay written by Anna Julia Cooper, which idealizes the concept of women education to improve the contributions to the society.

She puts forth the idea of providing educational rights to every woman, especially black woman, to increase the contribution to her race and the whole of humanity.

Which option was used to revise this sentence? Jude followed the van, and night was approaching. Night was approaching, but J
alexdok [17]

Answer:

Option B.

Moved parts of the sentence around

Explanation:

Let us consider the parts of a complete sentence:

  • The subject of a sentence is the person, place, thing, or idea that is doing or performing an action.
  • The verb is the action word in the sentence.
  • The Object is the thing on which the action is performed in a sentence.

We are dealing with two sentences in this question:

1. Jude followed the van

2. Night was approaching

These are two complete sentences with their own subject, verb and object.

They are bound together to form a compound sentence which is "Jude followed the van, <em>and</em> night was approaching"

The revised version of the sentence is simply a switch in the positions of the two simple sentences that form the compound sentence. The subject of the sentence was not changed, neither was the object or verb.

This simply means that parts of the compound sentence were moved around. This makes option B the correct answer.

D. She likely disagreed, since she believed that women could be just as strong and resilient as men.

Explanation:

Sojourner Truth, real name Isabella Baumfree, was born from slavery and so her whole life was spent trying t bring about change and freedom not only of the blacks/slaves, but also equal rights of men and women. She would later become one of the most famous human rights activist of all times, especially for her work towards women suffrage.

The most famous speech she delivered was "<em>Ain't I A Woman</em>", now more famous for it being an abolitionist and and women's rights' tone. When her women suffrage movement began to be condemned and criticized by others, with the idea that women being too sentimental and emotional to take part in politics, she greatly disagreed. Rather, she believed that women are the same as men, strong and resilient and also capable enough to be included in the affairs of the society and political scene.

Answer: form.

Poetic form can be understood as the physical structure of the poem. Characteristics such as the length of the lines, its theme and the structure of the rhymes are taken into account when determining a poem's form. The word "form" is normally only used for very familiar patterns.

Some examples of common forms are couplets, haikus, ballads, odes, epics, epigrams and sonnets.
