He recalls the outrage and disappointment of the fans in the stands at any number of other matches he attended, and he wonders why football fans continue to support teams that lose consistently. The angst of the fans existed regardless of their team’s score. These daughters will likely turn out to be useless and miserable at home if they continue to live as they are now. Fuller thinks women settlers are the ornaments of society. Fuller also notes the feelings of being one with the natural world around oneself.
