Since broth cultures of bacteria can reach high numbers of cells quickly, a series of answer experiments (one word) is required
nexus9112 [7]

The answer is Dilutions

Bacterial culture is one of the laboratory examination that could be used to determine if a specimen contain bacteria. But it will hard to count the colony if the bacteria count is too high.

That is why the specimen of the culture need to be diluted to reduce the bacteria count of the specimen, so the result will be easier to count. The unit used would be colony forming unit(CFU) per milliliter.

Read the following paragraph. Then rewrite it to make it represent good human relations skills.
34kurt

Answer:

Bart was 16 years old when he moved to New Jersey. He was not happy there were very few kids his age in his new neighborhood. During the winter, he noticed that his elderly neighbor, Mr. Jones, was attempting to remove snow from his sidewalk. Bart ran over to Mr. Jones and offered to help him. When summer came, Bart wanted to go swimming in Mr. Jones' pool, and the elderly neighbor smiled and allowed him, with pleasure.

Explanation:

This is a good example of a Life Skills question, where you are being questioned on what is the correct way to deal with people in certain situations. If Bart had helped the elderly neighbor, he would have a positive interaction with him, meaning that he would then not be afraid to approach him in summer.

1. You are studying an integral membrane protein of the plasma membrane. It has a single transmembrane domain and the N-terminal
Drupady [299]

Answer:

A 22 to 25 amino acid sequence present in the central section of the protein, which gives rise to an alpha helix in the membrane is known as the stop-transfer anchor sequence. The sequence plays an essential function in targeting the protein towards the plasma membrane. On the other hand, it also ceases targeting of the protein towards the endoplasmic reticulum, which was started by the signal peptide.

Thus, the process of translation of the remaining of the protein occurs within the cytosol due to the tethering of the transmembrane domain. In the stop-transfer anchor sequence, the hydrophobic amino acids present are isoleucine and valine. After mutation, these amino acids get converted into arginine and lysine, thus, hydrophilic amino acids replace hydrophobic amino acids in the sequence.

Due to this, the transmembrane domain cannot be targeted towards an integral part of the plasma membrane by the short transfer anchor sequence, and therefore, now the translocation of the protein will take place towards the endoplasmic reticulum as initiated by the signal peptide at the beginning.
