Of course, it's not as if those making these accusations don't have their points. For example, just because you don't eat meat o

r food derived from animals doesn't mean you will be healthy. If you subsist on a diet of candy bars, soda pop, and pasta, you'll be at the very least overweight, and you also won't get the nutrition you need to be healthy.
Which statement best evaluates the author's response to the counterclaim that vegans believe the only secret to a healthy life is not eating meat?

A. The author's response is effective because he points out what an unhealthy diet is.
B. The author's response is ineffective because he makes outrageous statements. C. The author's response is effective because he provides commonsense examples. D. The author's response is effective because he uses a report about nutrition.

The statement that best evaluates the author's response is C: The author's response is effective because he provides commonsense examples. In order to create a counterclaim that is strong, the author provides examples that are simple to understand, and the author shows that a person is not necessarily healthy just by avoiding meat. He exemplifies how vegan people could also have an unhealthy diet, and with this examples he creates an effective counterargument.

The answer is C: The author's response is effective because he provides commonsense examples.

The author understands that those who disagree with vegans have valid arguments. The vegans defend that the consume of animal products are not healthy, but, as the author, explains and compares, avoiding food dirived from animals is not enough to guarantee good health, neither is eating processed food that lacks nutrients.

Satire depends on the audience recognizing and agreeing with the satirist's implicit criticism of his or her target. How effecti
Montano1993 [528]

Satire is a genre of literature in which individuals, corporation, government or society are ridiculed in purpose of constructive social criticism, using wit to draw attention to both particular and wider issues in society in order to correct or shape opinions and behavior. But, satire can’t be effective in shaping behavior or opinions if the audience is always in on the joke and never being targeted. The effectiveness of satiric work is mirrored in sole comprehension of the targeted group of individuals that they are wrong, and should correct their opinions and behavior. Many satiric writers believe that satires should be medicine disguised as candy, so it would be easier for targeted group to accept it. If only non-targeted audience comprehend the joke (main idea of satiric work), the satire would not be effective as they agree with author’s criticism and there is no need for them to correct their behavior nor their opinions.

vova2212 [387]

In the article "How the Media Twists the News," Sheila Gribben Liaugminas explains that "intelligent news consumers" are those who pay attention to the ways in which media presents the news. She argues that being this intelligent consumer means that you realize that not everything you hear is valid, well-researched or unbiased. Moreover, an "intelligent citizen" employs this well-researched information to act in society. I believe that through the use of these two terms, the author makes a strong and valid call to action. She is effective when it comes to explaining that this is a vital task for all citizens. Moreover, she is explicit in how not doing so can affect our society and increase ignorance among the public.
