Coach Wilson ordered T-shirts for the basketball team from two different T-shirt suppliers. One supplier charged $16 for each sh

irt, as well as 5% for shipping. The other supplier charged $18 for each shirt, plus 7% for shipping.
Part A

Coach Wilson ordered the same number of shirts from each supplier. Write an equation to find the shipping charges he paid to each supplier.

Part B

The first supplier gave Coach Wilson a discount of 10% off of his order total. The second supplier gave him a discount of $20 off of his order total. Write an equation to find the total cost, T, of the shirts.

Part C

Coach Wilson ordered 15 T-shirts from each supplier. How much did he pay?

Part A:
# of shirts bought in total (T)times cost of each shirt (E) =X. X times .5 (same as 5%)= shipping charge (S) =
first: T*E=X. second: X*.5=S

Part B:
vendor 1:
# of shirts bought (A) times cost of each shirt (B) plus shipping charge(C) times 10%=T. A*B+C*.10=T

vendor 2:
# of shirts bought (A) times cost of each shirt (B) plus shipping charge (C) minus $20= T. A*B+C-20=T

Part C:

vendor 1:
15*16=240 (total # of shirts * cost of ea.)
240+8= 248 (1st answer + $8 of shipping)
248*.10= 24.80 (2nd answer * 10% discount)
248-24.80= [223.20] (2nd answer - 10%)
vendor 1 total cost: 223.20.

vendor 2:
15*18=270 (# of shirt bought * cost of ea.)
270+12.60=280.60 (answr 1 + shipping cost)
280.60-20=[260.60](answr 2 -$20discount)
vendor 2 total cost: 260.60.

Firdavs [7]

Answer:

-2x-5y+8z+4.5=0

Step-by-step explanation:

Let (x,y,z) be the coordinates of the point lying on the needed plane. This point is equidistant from the points (-3, 5, -4) and (-5, 0, 4), so

d_1=\sqrt{(x-(-3))^2+(y-5)^2+(z-(-4))^2}=\sqrt{(x+3)^2+(y-5)^2+(z+4)^2}\\ \\d_2=\sqrt{(x-(-5))^2+(y-0)^2+(z-4)^2}=\sqrt{(x+5)^2+y^2+(z-4)^2}\\ \\d_1=d_2\Rightarrow \sqrt{(x+3)^2+(y-5)^2+(z+4)^2}=\sqrt{(x+5)^2+y^2+(z-4)^2}\\ \\(x+3)^2+(y-5)^2+(z+4)^2=(x+5)^2+y^2+(z-4)^2\\ \\x^2+6x+9+y^2-10y+25+z^2+8z+16=x^2+10x+25+y^2+z^2-8z+16\\ \\-4x-10y+16z+9=0\\ \\-2x-5y+8z+4.5=0

The heaviest land animal ever recorded (according to the Guinness Book of World Records) was a male African bush elephant. He we
tino4ka555 [31]

Answer:

The largest African elephant weighed 13.5 tons (27,000 pounds) The world record holder weighed this much and stood 13ft/4m tall at the shoulder. There are other species of elephants, namely the Asian and the Indian, but they are much smaller than the African. The African elephant is the king among the giants on land. No other land animal comes close to the size of these creatures. It would take 165 full-grown men to make up the same weight as the world's record African elephant. The noise of an elephant digesting its food (when its tummy's growling) can be heard up to 600ft/183m away. Elephants actually have control over their digestive processes because they are able to stop the sounds of digestion when they sense danger. Here are some other cool elephant factoids:

vovikov84 [41]
Given:
4/5 as many students who do not wear glasses as those who wear glasses.
60 students wear glasses.

Find the total number of students in the grade.

60 * 4/5 = (60 * 4)/5 = 240 / 5 = 48 students who do not wear glasses.

60 w/ glasses + 48 w/o glasses = 108 total number of students.
