A. She is most likely ill from a bacterial infection. Antibiotics will not be effective against the bacteria, but bed rest and plenty of fluids will help.
B. She is most likely ill from a bacterial infection. Antibiotics will be more effective against the bacteria than bed rest alone.
C. She is most likely ill from a virus. Antibiotics will be more effective against the flu virus than bed rest alone.

Flu is a common viral infection that affects both children and adults. It is characterized by symptoms such as fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, congestion, runny nose, headaches and fatigue. Its treatment involves primarily rest and fluid to let the body fight infection its own. In addition, over the counter anti-inflammatory pain relievers may help with symptoms. In this case, i therefore think that the doctors arguments would be, she is most likely ill from a virus. Antibiotics will not be effective against the flu virus, but bed rest and plenty of fluids will help.

Which of the following best describes how cleaning products like chlorine, hydrogen peroxide, and soap influence the infectious
torisob [31]

Answer:

These cleaning products break apart the capsules of the viruses causing them to no longer be capable of infecting an individual.

Explanation:

Bleach oxidises organic molecules. This causes proteins to become denatured, or lose their shape. The viral capsule containing the DNA is a coat made up of proteins that is required for the virus to become infectious. Therefore, following bleach treatment, the viral protein capsule become oxidised, cause them to loses their shape, meaning the virus can no longer infect individuals.

1. You are studying an integral membrane protein of the plasma membrane. It has a single transmembrane domain and the N-terminal
Drupady [299]

Answer:

A 22 to 25 amino acid sequence present in the central section of the protein, which gives rise to an alpha helix in the membrane is known as the stop-transfer anchor sequence. The sequence plays an essential function in targeting the protein towards the plasma membrane. On the other hand, it also ceases targeting of the protein towards the endoplasmic reticulum, which was started by the signal peptide.

Thus, the process of translation of the remaining of the protein occurs within the cytosol due to the tethering of the transmembrane domain. In the stop-transfer anchor sequence, the hydrophobic amino acids present are isoleucine and valine. After mutation, these amino acids get converted into arginine and lysine, thus, hydrophilic amino acids replace hydrophobic amino acids in the sequence.

Due to this, the transmembrane domain cannot be targeted towards an integral part of the plasma membrane by the short transfer anchor sequence, and therefore, now the translocation of the protein will take place towards the endoplasmic reticulum as initiated by the signal peptide at the beginning.
