Gregor was relieved that he wasn't chosen last. Gregor <u>exaled deeply</u> because he could finally relax. The author even notes that his posture <u>relaxed</u>. His muscles no longer felt tense. His heartbeat <u>steadied</u>, which means he was no longer worried or stressed.
