Two reasons why the Maya civilization prospered as a civilization are:

 1. They observed the stars and the cosmos: This was very important to the development of their material and religious life, but it also helped them to prevent from floods, droughts and other natural disasters caused mainly by the motion of the earth around the globe.
 2. They studied and stored their crops: This contributed to feeding and nourishing the population of the civilization, as well as to enhance their economy by selling high-quality crops to other settlements of people.

Because of its architecture and the theocratic government, we consider the Mayas as a civilization.

1. Architecture: It is easily recognizable as Mayan architecture the stepped pyramids. Being based on Mesoamerican architectural traditions these pyramids relied on an intricately carved stone in order to create a stepped design. Each pyramid was dedicated to a deity whose sanctuary sat at its height. During this "height" of Mayan culture, the centers of religious, commercial and bureaucratic power grew up in large cities, such as Chichén Itzá, Tikal and Uxmal. Through the observation of the numerous consistent elements and stylistic distinctions, the remains of Mayan architecture have become an important key to understanding the historical evolution of their civilization.

2. Theocratic government: The Mayan rulers were priests and warriors who considered themselves messengers of the divine law. This type of government is known as a theocracy. The rulers were respected as gods, and the cities they ruled were religious centers shaped by temples, astronomical observatories, and great pyramids. It was there that human sacrifices were celebrated in honor of their creator god, Hunab-ku.

Which sentence is the most subjective statement? A. Bryan thanked the owners for the raise and vowed to continue his hard work
Likurg_2 [28]
Subjective: based on or influenced by personal experiences, beliefs, thoughts

I just copied and pasted this to see if anyone else had an answer, one person said B and that got 5 stars and a few thanks, so I'd go with B. Also, B seems objective because it is influenced by the person's feeling of the character.

Read this excerpt from The Great Fire. "I saw a great many kindly acts done as we moved along," White would recall almost fondly
choli [55]

The correct answer is "Ordinary people can act heroically in chaotic situations".

Explanation: In "The Great Fire", the narrator explains White's testimony of the Great Chicago fire; there were accounts of men taking advantage of the situation and overcharging services for people in distress, but in other instances, there were regular people who helped for free. The everyday people who chose to help without expecting anything in return were the true heroes.
