The assumption that was proved wrong after the invention of sonar is the assumption that THE OCEAN FLOOR IS FEATURELESS.  
The Sonar device was invented during the World War 1 and it is used for accurate mapping of the ocean floor. Before the device was invented, it was assumed that the ocean floor do not contain any feature, but after the invention of the device, it was discovered that, the ocean floor is not flat but have land forms such as mountains and valleys; some of the mountains on the ocean floor are even taller that the ones we have on land while some of the valley are deeper than the one present on land.

Explanation: the process by which egg is produced is called oogenesis. It involves the mitotic division of the primodial germ cells to from a oogonia. The oogonia becomes enveloped by follicle cells . Oogonia grows to become the primary oocyte. Each primary oocyte is diploid. It then undergoes the first meiotic division to form the secondary oogonia and a smaller polar nody. all this process of development occurs in the ovary.

After it is released from the ovary, fertilization occurs and it undergoes the second meiotic division to from a polar body and an ovum.

The primary oocyte however remains in prophase of meiosis l throughout childhood.

This is the DNA. I'm going to only use the upper strand to demonstrate what this strand would code for before and after a single bp deletion (so write it as mRNA). I will also write it how it's easier to see this which is to split them up into the 3 base codon system. Note that you don't need to know the amino acid code - you use a table to find these.

ORIGINAL (mRNA on top, Amino Acid (AA) on bottom:

5'-AGC GGG AUG AGC GCA UGU GGC GCA UAA CUG-3'
    SER  GLY  MET SER ALA  CYS GLY ALA  STOP LEU 

Note that the protein would stop being made at the stop codon and the LEU wouldn't matter at the end...

Now, I will remove one bp...(I bolded it up top). Rewrite the mRNA and find the corresponding AA...
