D. We both want to help the old people. We want to see that they do have adequate medical care.

Response “D” contains information that is irrelevant to the point Nixon was trying to make.   Before providing his information, he states, “Let us look at the record.”  What the word “record” tells us is that he will be discussing things that have already been done.  For responses “A,” “B,” and “C,” Nixon mentions accomplishments that have been done in the last seven/by the, then, present administration—all of these are relevant to his argument.  However, response “D” talks about what is wanted, not what has been done; thus, item “D” contains information that is irrelevant the Nixon’s argument.

Answer:

A

Explanation:

The figurative languages:

But if a man would be alone, let him look at the stars: I believe he was talking about how fascinating it is to look up at the stars, for when he did he was amazed at all that he saw in the sky, wondering how it was possible.

...retire as much from his chamber as from society: talking about how a man is fully in isolation if they have stopped doing both work and socialization.

almost all the figurative speech after the first one listed all talk about his fascination for the stars.

the other ones include:

...will separate between him and what he touches

But every night come out these  envoys of beauty

and light the universe with their admonishing smile

Read the first sentence of "Code Talkers.”
Ivanshal [37]

Hi There!

Question - Cryptology, the study and use of secret codes, has been an important component of US military strategy since it was first used in the American Revolution to hide sensitive communications from British forces.

How does the author introduce the reader to code talkers?

Answer - by presenting an interesting fact

Why - The reason I say its option A is because the fact that it makes the most sense in a way that, the other options don't make any sense. Option B says telling an entertaining story when its not a story. Option C makes no sense because the first sentence dosen't contain a quotation. Option D makes no sense because the first sentence dosen't ask a question.

Hope This Helps :)

Read the historical fact.
madam [21]

c.why there is tension between the two sides in the tournament.

It is important to know this fact about the time period because it helps to explain some of the characters' behaviors in the tournament. The tension is not simply because of the contest. It is more deeply rooted because of the tensions between the Saxons and the Normans. Tension between sides does not usually result in indifference so option a is definitely wrong. Lady Rowena is the queen of the day because she was chosen by the winning knight - not because of the tensions. Also, tensions would not cause someone to defer.
