You don't know what they're going through, this might be the only question they ever asked about, they might be an A+ student who does the readings, goes to classes, has no overdues, etc. BE MORE NICE/KIND TO PEOPLE!  Anyways, I would say the answer is c - to emphasize his claim that slavery should have no place in the land of the free. :) Hope this helps, have a great day/weekend EVERYONE! <span> </span>
