We know that

800 m-----------> 0.8 km
total distance is--------------> 20 km

if Bob walks 800 m then <span>he travel by bicycle ----> 20 km-0.8 km---> 19.2 km

if 20 km-------------> is 100%
19.2 km-------------> X
X=19.2*100/20---------> X=96%

the answer is 96%</span>

An online news source reports that the proportion of smartphone owners who use a certain operating system is 0.216. Two simulati
kaheart [24]

Answer:

The center/ mean will almost be equal, and the variability of simulation B will be higher than the variability of simulation A.

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution

Normally, a distribution sample is mostly affected by sample size.

As a rule, sampling error decreases by half by increasing the  sample size four times.

In this case, B sample is 2 times higher the A sample size.

Now, the Mean sampling error is affected and is not higher for A.

But it's sample is huge for this, Thus, they are almost equal

Variability of simulation decreases with increase in number of trials. A has less variability.

With increase number of trials, variability of simulation decreases, so A has less variability.

If p is a polynomial show that lim x→ap(x)=p(a
Lostsunrise [7]

Let p(x) be a polynomial, and suppose that a is any real number. Prove that

lim x→a p(x) = p(a) .

Solution. Notice that

2(−1)4 − 3(−1)3 − 4(−1)2 − (−1) − 1 = 1 .

So x − (−1) must divide 2x^4 − 3x^3 − 4x^2 − x − 2. Do polynomial long division to get 2x^4 − 3x^3 − 4x^2 – x – 2 / (x − (−1)) = 2x^3 − 5x^2 + x – 2.

Let ε > 0. Set δ = min{ ε/40 , 1}. Let x be a real number such that 0 < |x−(−1)| < δ. Then |x + 1| < ε/40 . Also, |x + 1| < 1, so −2 < x < 0. In particular |x| < 2. So

|2x^3 − 5x^2 + x − 2| ≤ |2x^3 | + | − 5x^2 | + |x| + | − 2|

= 2|x|^3 + 5|x|^2 + |x| + 2

< 2(2)^3 + 5(2)^2 + (2) + 2

= 40

Thus, |2x^4 − 3x^3 − 4x^2 − x − 2| = |x + 1| · |2x^3 − 5x^2 + x − 2| < ε/40 · 40 = ε.

HDTV screens usually have a width-to -height ratio of 16:9. Which screen dimensions are in the same proportion?
love history [14]

Answer:

4 feet by 3 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

I think your question is missed of key information, allow me to add in and hope it will fit the original one.

Please have a look at the attached photo.

My answer:

width-to -height ratio of 16:9

Let analyse all possible answers:

  • 4 feet by 3 feet

16 divided by 4 is the same as 9 divided by 3 => it is true

  • 28 inches by 21 inches

16 divided by 28 is different as 9 divided by 21 => it is wrong

  • 48 centimeters by 27 centimeters

16 divided by 48 is different as 9 divided by 27 => it is wrong

  • 26 inches by 19 inches

16 divided by 26 is different as 9 divided by 219=> it is wrong

We choose A.

Hope it will find you well.

Jason ran 5/7 of the distance around the school track. Sara ran 4/5 of Jason's distance. What fraction of the total distance aro
masha68 [24]
Jason: 5/7
Sara: 4/5

Think of it this way: if the total track is a mile, and Jason runs 5/7 of it,  he has run 5/7 of a mile. Then Sara runs 4/5 OF 5/7, with "of" meaning "times," so she runs 4/5 x 5/7, which gives you 20/35, which simplifies to 4/7. You can also think of Sara's distance as 80 percent of Jason's. If she runs "80 percent of the sevenths that Jason ran," that means she ran 4 out of his 5 sevenths.

The gas tank in felizs car is 5/6 full each time he drives to or from work he uses 1/12 of a full tank of gas which equation rep
Illusion [34]

Answer:

\frac{1}{12}x = \frac{5}{6}\\  \\

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given:</u>

  • Volume of fuel = 5/6
  • Volume of fuel used each time = 1/12
  • Number of travels to or from work = x

<u>Since each time 1/12 of the tank is used, and initial volume is 5/6 of the tank, the equation will be:</u>

  • \frac{1}{12}x = \frac{5}{6}\\  \\

<u>Solving the equation we get:</u>

  • x = \frac{5}{6}÷\frac{1}{12}
  • x = \frac{5}{6} × 12
  • x = 10

So Felitz can travel 10 times to/from work with 5/6 full tank
