Which sentence in this excerpt from Leo Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich shows that Ivan Ilyich finally understands the cause

of his suffering? the answer choices are in parithisis.
Suddenly some force struck him in the chest and side, making it still harder to breathe, and he fell through the hole and there at the bottom was a light.( What had happened to him was like the sensation one sometimes experiences in a railway carriage when one thinks one is going backwards while one is really going forwards and suddenly becomes aware of the real direction. ) ("Yes, it was not the right thing," he said to himself, "but that's no matter. It can be done. But what is the right thing? he asked himself, and suddenly grew quiet.) This occurred at the end of the third day, two hours before his death. Just then his schoolboy son had crept softly in and gone up to the bedside. The dying man was still screaming desperately and waving his arms. His hand fell on the boy's head, and the boy caught it, pressed it to his lips, and began to cry. (At that very moment Ivan Ilyich fell through and caught sight of the light, and it was revealed to him that though his life had not been what it should have been, this could still be rectified.) He asked himself, "What is the right thing?" and grew still, listening. Then he felt that someone was kissing his hand. He opened his eyes, looked at his son, and felt sorry for him. His wife camp up to him and he glanced at her. She was gazing at him open-mouthed, with undried tears on her nose and cheek and a despairing look on her face. He felt sorry for her too. "Yes, I am making them wretched," he thought. "They are sorry, but it will be better for them when I die." He wished to say this but had not the strength to utter it. "Besides, why speak? I must act," he thought. with a look at his wife he indicated his son and said: "Take him away...sorry for him...sorry for you too....(" He tried to add, "Forgive me," but said "Forego" and waved his hand, knowing that He whose understanding mattered would understand.)

I think that: ( At that very moment Ivan Ilyich fell through and caught sight of the light, and it was revealed to him that though his life had not been what it should have been, this could still be rectified.): shows that Ivan Ilyich finally understands the cause of his suffering. I think that because it says "and it was revealed to him that though his life had not been what it should have been, this could still be rectified.", and I think that shows when he realizes it.

Which best describe the purpose of Justin lebo
olga2289 [7]

The option that best describes the purpose of "Justin Lebo" is to entertain readers with an inspirational story. Justin Lebo was a person who liked to fix bikes and make new ones out of old parts. What he also liked to do is help those in need who did not have nearly as much as he did. So he would make new bikes and give them to other children who would very much enjoy to ride them and be happy for a change. It is very inspirational and tells us that anyone can do even a small thing to help someone else.

Which sentence uses sarcasm to make a funny point?
aalyn [17]

Answer:

<em>My car looks brand new with its rusted fender and dented doors.</em>

Explanation:

Sarcasm is when someone say something opposite to the actual scenario, to mock something just to make it funny in a delighted way of humor. <em>"My car is brand new"</em> is totally opposite to <em>"it's rusted fender and dented doors". </em>

Clearly his car is old, has rusted fender and dented doors which means  poorly managed, but he for the sake of laugh or to make it funny mentioned it a brand new car.

Which sentences contribute to a sense of hope in this excerpt from "The Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin? She wept at once, with
ahrayia [7]
The sentences that contribute to a sense of hope are "<span>She could see in the open square before her house the tops of trees that were all aquiver with the new spring life. The delicious breath of rain was in the air. In the street below a peddler was crying his wares. The notes of a distant song which someone was singing reached her faintly, and countless sparrows were twittering in the eaves. There were patches of blue sky showing here and there through the clouds that had met and piled one above the other in the west facing her window."    First of all, she sees trees that are trembling with new life. A peddler was selling his goods. She could hear a distant song which someone was singing, and songs usually mean good spirit in works of literature.
