The answer is A according to the story i read.  "This is no bookish monk, studying in a cloister, but a man who keeps greyhounds to hunt the hare. The Monk is well-fed, fat, and his eyes are bright, gleaming like a furnace in his head."

I believe the answer is actually B, dressing and eating well because hes not like the other monks of his time. Most monks of the Middle Ages lived in monasteries, which demanded that they devote their lives to “work and prayer.” This Monk cares little for the Rule; his devotion is to hunting and eating. He is large, loud, and well clad in hunting boots and furs.
