How does the change or gap between generations complicate this relationship?
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

Emily is considered a fascinating, old celebrity by the community.  She is part of those wealthy families that used to be revered and respected because of the generations of wealth and status that they held. But with the abolition of slavery, and how the middle class gain respect in America, such reverence for those old families slowly disappeared, and Miss Emily was the only thing that was left. I think that the relationship was complicated in the sense that Emily always wanted to keep men with her. a clear example is her father that as he was the only person that was with her, she decided to keep the corpse no matter the consequences. The same occurs with Homer Barron she killed him and keep the corpse to feel she was not alone.

What is the root word and suffix of residence
Marina86 [1]

Answer and Explanation:

The root word for residence is resid(e) and the suffix is -ence.

The root word comes from the Latin original resid(ere), meaning to reside, to dwell, to live in. The noun suffix -ence, equivalent to -ance, is used to indicate action, state, condition, or quality. It also comes from the Latin original -entia. Residence is, nowadays, used as a synonym for home, house, or habitation. We can see it originally indicated the state or the action of living somewhere.

Read the following excerpt from "I Sell a Dog" by Mark Twain:
melomori [17]

I think that the correct option is C: the role of the idiom in this sentence is to explain that bad habits are creating a bad financial situation.

An idiom may be defined as a figure of speech established by usage that has a meaning not necessarily deductible from those of the individual words. Idioms are not always meant to be taken literally.

In this case, the idiom is explaining the cause of financial situation.
