Read the excerpt below and answer the question. Well, as I was saying, they have hardly uttered a word, or not more than a word,

of truth; but you shall hear from me the whole truth: not, however, delivered after their manner, in a set oration duly ornamented with words and phrases. What is Socrates saying about rhetoric in this excerpt from The Apology? Select all that apply. His accusers' rhetoric is lengthy and uninteresting. His own rhetoric is straightforward and to the point. His accusers' rhetoric is attractive but lacking in substance. His own rhetoric is more charming than that of his accusers.

An Inspector Calls
klemol [59]

Answer:

The Birling family and Gerald Croft are celebrating Sheila’s engagement to Gerald

• Although there are a few signs that not everything is perfect (Mr Birling is too anxious to impress Gerald, Eric

seems nervous and Sheila mentions that Gerald did not come near her the previous summer) there is a

happy, light-hearted atmosphere.

• Mr Birling makes arrogant speeches, telling the other characters his views on science, the Titanic and the

relationship between bosses and workers, saying that a man ‘has to mind his own business and look after

himself’

In what way does Mirikitani’s “Attack the Water” compare to Muriel Ruckeyser’s “Poem”?
Amanda [17]
Mirikitani's "Attack the Water" relates to Rukeyser's "Poem" because they both focus on what civilians experience during wartime. "Attack the Water" describes the struggle of Vietnamese people living during (and after) the Vietnam War, and of Japanese-Americans in the era of Japanese Labor camps. "Poem" reflects on the struggle of people living during both of the World Wars, trying to get by and to get through such a tragic time. Both of these poems show that even when people are not involved directly in a war, war can still have an immense impact on their lives.
