I've just read today's paper. It's just amazing how much of it is composed of advertisements. My mothers first move is to scan the paper's pages for ladies sales. My father's preference is the editorial section; he diligently reads the editors columns. He's especially interested in readers comments and their reactions. I'm a sports fan, myself. Doesn't the World Series brand of baseball appeal to you? I can't imagine anyone refusing to follow sports; but, then, neither can I imagine being interested in the day's sales.

Examine the piece above. What is the subject matter in this piece? What is the content?
Drupady [299]

Answer:

Please see Explanation.

Explanation:

The subject matter is a view at the edge of a forest, into a clearing, at dusk or dawn, though the mood is of sunset. The clearing opens into a dirt path or road that is more than a game trail, leading down past the lake or pond, up to a manor or walled castle keep. The pond is reflecting the light from the sunset, bringing about the notion that darkness will be upon the view in a short time. The cirrus clouds, wispy with a bit of wind, indicate the weather may be cold or becoming colder, perhaps in the season of Fall.

The content includes several types of trees including what appear to be a few evergreens and several deciduous trees. In the near distance, there are some shorter trees that may be shrubs. Sprigs of grass and other small plants are shown at the base of the trees. The dirt road brings about the notion that this is a scene from the past, such that the walled castle keep is in current use. The content includes clouds that appear to be showing the oncoming cold. There are rocky appearing mountains in the distance. The observer is at the edge of forrest, overlooking the road, curving around to the castle keep.
