It's not the kind of canvas that is open to be enjoyable (dark themes, hard light, direct composition). On the other hand, the commemorative art intends to be fun, to portray the event to show the victory of something or someone, with bright colors, a soft light, and the composition of the canvas follows the idea to put the audience among the characters portrayed. I think that documentation art becomes a commemorative one when the events and the person who fought there became legends when they change something in History.
