Do you believe that sarcasm is confusing, or is the condemnation more a result of not wanting criticism? Can sarcasm really be p
Vsevolod [243]

Answer:

Sarcasm indeed can be confusing.

Explanation:

Sarcasm indeed can be confusing to some extent. Sarcasm can be understood as "indirect criticism", what you say manifest exactly the oposite of what you really mean with the comment.

Sarcasm cannot be prevented, it is a very "human" activity due to the high symbolism, and complexities of human interaction, sarcasm is expected to exist in one way or another.

Yes, the continuing comments in the U.S about fake news may have something to do with the country's growingly "autistic" impatience with sarcasm and criticism.

Either you or Miguel ______ leading the group.
A: are
B: is
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

Either you or Miguel is leading the group.

Explanation:

When using compound conjunctions - either... or and neither... nor - we tend to feel like using a plural verb, which may be incorrect. Most of the time, the right way to conjugate a verb in sentences with compound conjunctions is in the singular.

Something else that can be confusing in the sentence we are analyzing here is the fact that "either" is followed by "you". As we know, the right verb form for "you" is "are". However, even in this case, we should go with the form "is" because "Miguel" is the closest noun to the verb. Therefore, the correct answer is:

Either you or Miguel is leading the group.

He is a Jew, a writer and a survivor of the Holocaust, so in his work, we can experience the very essence of what was going there. Though his works made him famous, he said that those honors are a burden because he would rather like that his sister Tsiporah stayed alive, that Holocaust did not happen and book left unwritten.

Artie Spiegelman used his father Vladek`s vivid memories for writing Maus. He made hours and hours of interviews which included prewar, war and after war period. Vladek with his first wife Anja were first sent into segregated neighborhoods (ghettos) and then going through several Nazi camps.
