The answer is : I wouldn't be interested if I were you either. However, I know you'll be interested when you hear about... it's very exciting! (If prospect still says no), what would be a better time to talk?

The idea behind this is that you need to make sure that you 'Accept' what the customer says and ensure that they understand you are on their side.

Try to look at the whole situation from the point of the customer and tell them that whatever you are saying is only for their benefit and not to 'sell' them anything.

At the end, even if they say no, try to push for another time to ask.

The whole thing should not feel 'pushy' and ensure that the customer throughout feels relaxed.

Consider the demand for socks. What would cause a movement from one point on the demand curve to a point further down the curve?
NeTakaya

Answer:

(B) A big sale on socks

For a movement along the demand curve the reason has to be a price factor as all other factors shift the supply curve to the right or left. In this case the a big sale on socks would mean that the price of the socks is decreasing, which will move the point on the demand curve further down on the curve as the demand curve is downward sloping, and a decrease in price would move the point of quantity traded further down to the curve.
