<span>so from what i understand... my discussion. In our Christian language, we may prefer to call volunteering, serving. Service moves from mere physical motions to human action (Wuthnow 1991: 45). Service incorporates all aspects of our humanity, instead of just the physical need at hand. Love, justice, compassion, action, presence, and understanding embody the cultural framework of Christian service, to which this human action refers. Service goes a step further than volunteering one's free afternoon to dish out food at a local soup kitchen....

Answer: to express an opinion about US asylum policies.

Explanation:

The author of the writing that this excerpt is based on is sharing their opinion on what they feel the U.S. should do when it comes to little children asking for asylum.

The author believes that they should be saved especially if they face danger if they are sent back home. The speaker then gives their suggestion in relation to this which shows that the purpose of the text was to express an opinion.

Describe Wiesel's opinion of his fellow Sighet citizens. Find and write a line from the text the supports your statement.
Naddika [18.5K]
The people of Sighet, like many Jewish people in Europe at the time, are naive and unable to believe the atrocities being committed by the Nazis.

When Moshe returns to Sighet and tells everyone about what he experienced, they are unable to believe him. Instead of believing him, the people of Sighet say he is crazy. If they were to believe him, they would have to admit the fact they were in danger as well. They do not believe until it is far too late to leave.
