However, in order to both be able to develop these areas, while at the same time protecting them and ensuring their proper upkeep, cities use something called a redevelopment district, which is a special property tax whose financial gains will be placed into a special fund that will be used exclusively to develop, but also improve and protect the site to be developed. In this case, the sports stadium´s builders will have to do this before they can construct on the desired land.
