In the generation of most anions, the energy change (kj/mol) that _______ an electron is ________.

Biology

stepan [7]2 years ago

The answer is D. An anion is a negatively charged ion, which means it has accepted an extra electron (s) from a donor ion (cation). To add an electron, energy has to be released so that the electron can be less excited and go back to its orbital level. The released energy is equivalent to the energy required to remove the electron from its orbital level.

A change in one base of the gene sequence is known as point mutation.

Explanation:

Question 2 is incomplete.

3. A mutation that only affects a single nucleotide of nucleic acid is known as Point Mutation.

In Point mutations there is substitution of one base for another.

Example: TAT TGG CTA

                               TAC TGG CTA

The TAT changes to TAC which shows point mutation.

4. Yes. The point mutation have an effect on the outcome compared to the normal sequence.

When there is a change in one base of the gene it results into causing disease such as cancer, sickle cell anemia.

In direct calorimetry, a person is placed in a large, water-insulated chamber. The chamber is kept at a constant temperature. Wh
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

Although direct calorimetry is considered to be the most precise technique for the measurement of metabolic rate, construction of such a chamber that is large enough for doing exercise physiology research (or any research for that matter) is extremely expensive and not at all mobile.

Explanation:

Direct calorimetry measures the heat production of an individual, in calories, when placed in an insulated chamber where the heat is transferred to surrounding water. This is a very accurate method of measuring energy expenditure.

Which region of Earth did John Tuzo Wilson believe was broken into plates? Lithosphere outer core lower mantle asthenosphere
notsponge [240]

The correct answer is option A - Lithosphere

Explanation:

John Tuzo Wilson was a Canadian geophysicist who is known for his contributions to the theory of plate tectonics.

Plate tectonics supports the idea that the rigid outer layer of the Earth or the lithosphere is broken into numerous plates. These plates move independently over the asthenosphere.
