Cigarettes no matter whether they come with a filter or not are injurious to health. Cigarettes contain tobacco leaves These tobacco leaves are rich in nicotine. When a cigarette is burned, it gives off the nicotine vapour, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, vapours of heavy elements like lead and the carbon soot in the form of tar. The filter present at the end of the cigarette mostly blocks the tar and condenses the harmful vapours of the heavy elements like the lead inside it. When Rita smokes a filtered cigarette, she gets a relatively high concentration of nicotine-rich vapour in the smoke. Though a unfiltered cigarette will have the highest concentration of nicotine.
