Answer: The skin loses its elasticity.

First degree burns affects the superficial epidermal layer of the skin. These burns can be painful depending upon the intensity of source of heat obtain from fire or radiation. The injury due to first degree burn gets heal in 5 to 10 days depending upon the surface area of burns. These are not severe burns. These burns does not affect nerves and dermal layers of skin therefore, the chances of infection are extremely low. The skin affected by burn will also sweat as these burns will affect the epidermal layer of skin and sebaceous glands are present in the dermal layer. The epidermal layer formed by healing of first degree burn injury will be less elastic than the normal skin. It will be have limited tactile motion.

Snezhnost [94]
The process is called peer review. Scientists are obligated to publish their research in scientific journals. The number of publications a scientist has will impact his or her career path and advancement. When a scientist finishes a study, he/she and his/her collaborators will write a manuscript outlining and discussing the results of the study. This manuscript will be sent to a journal for publishing. There are usually several journals publishing within each field, with some more prestigious than others, as indicated by an impact factor. Journals such as Science and Nature have the highest impact factor as they have the greatest readership. The editor of the journal will send the manuscript off to other scientists working in the same field, and will ask them to 'peer review' the manuscript to determine whether the paper deserves publication, whether it requires corrections, or whether is should be rejected outright. Ideally, papers should be rejected because of bad science, and not because the results contradict previous studies or current scientific theory.

Biological control methods for managing insect pests are effective for reasons that include which of the following? They promote
Semenov [28]

Answer:

Option B, They generally focus on one target insect to ensure that the target insect population remains low.

Explanation:

Biological pest control methodologies are focused towards a specific species of pest and do not harm the non-targeted species. These methods are environment friendly and do not produce any harmful residues. Also they do not develop any kind of resistance in species due to which the same bio pesticide can be used again and again. Since these methods have high specificity, they may require usage of two or more bio pesticides all together.

Hence, option B is correct

Alexandra [31]

Answer:

B. Two functions of carbohydrates are structural support and transferring genetic information

Explanation:

Carbohydrates are synthesized in green plants, thanks to photosynthesis, in which carbon dioxide (CO2) and water are converted into glycides, with energy provided by light. The energy stored in the glucose molecule during photosynthesis is released in the degradation (catabolism) of glucose, producing water and CO2.

From the point of view of metabolism, the main function of carbohydrates in plant organisms is to provide energy and provide structural support. This can be seen in the question above, because we can see that in spring, when stem growth is at its fastest pace, cellulose production rates increase in some plants, while in months with less sunlight, the level of starch decreases in some plants.
