Answer

• Maintaining eye contact

• Paying attention in the talk

• Listening without jumping to conclusion

• Formulating a picture in mind as you listen

• Avoid interruption to suggest solutions

• Asking clarification when the speaker has paused

• Asking questions to improve understanding

• Understanding the mood of the speaker

• Giving the appropriate feedback

Explanation

A person can improve his active listening skills by being aware of his or her personal style of communicating. A good listener is productive  and able to influence others when talking because he or she will have mastered the technique of persuading and negotiating with audience when talking. The journey to becoming an active listener is through paying attention, showing that you are following the speaker ,providing good feedback, avoiding judging the speaker and providing the appropriate feedback.

Comprehension is shared meaning between parties in a communication transaction. This is the first step in the listening process. The second step is being able to take breaks between discernible words, or talking segmentation.

Retaining is the second step in the process. Memory is essential to the listening process because the information retained when a person is involved in the listening process is how meaning from words is created. Because everyone has different memories, the speaker and the listener may attach different meanings to the same statement. However, memories are fallible, things like cramming may cause information to be forgotten.

Listening is an interaction between speaker and listener.[2] It adds action to a normally passive process.[2]

Explain how abstraction is used in a GPS system
Pavlova-9 [17]

Answer

Abstraction enables GPS system to facilitate the utilization of well defined interfaces while offering room to add additional levels of functionality which are complex to handle.

Explanation

GPS system applies abstraction to be able to arrange level of complexity on which a user will interact with the system. For example, it establishes a link of satellite positioned and timed systems to allow a radio receiver obtain a signal in four dimension after synchronizing the data of latitude, longitude, attitude and time.

Modify the guessing-game program so that the user thinks of a number that the computer must guess.
Triss [41]

Answer:

import random

import math

smaller = int(input("Enter the smaller number: "))

larger = int(input("Enter the larger number: "))

count = 0

print()

while True:

   count += 1

   myNumber = (smaller + larger) // 2

   print('%d %d' % (smaller, larger))

   print('Your number is %d' % myNumber)

   choice = input('Enter =, <, or >: ')

   if choice == '=':

       print("Hooray, I've got it in %d tries" % count)

       break

   elif smaller == larger:

       print("I'm out of guesses, and you cheated")

       break

   elif choice == '<':

       larger = myNumber - 1

   else:

       smaller = myNumber + 1

Explanation:

The code to be Modified is as indicated below:

# Modify the code below:

import random

smaller = int(input("Enter the smaller number: "))

larger = int(input("Enter the larger number: "))

myNumber = random.randint(smaller, larger)

count = 0

while True:

   count += 1

   userNumber = int(input("Enter your guess: "))

   if userNumber < myNumber:

       print("Too small")

   elif userNumber > myNumber:

       print("Too large")

   else:

       print("You've got it in", count, "tries!")

       break

Detailed Explanation:

Line 3 and 4 of the codes prompts the user to enter a smaller and larger number. Line 5 we initiate the formula for minimum number of guesses. Line 14 and 17 prints out the output  I'm out of guesses, and you cheated and Hooray, I've got it in X after validating the conditions.
