Read the excerpt from "The Crab That Played with the Sea.” ‘Was that well done?’ said the Eldest Magician. ‘Yes,’ said the Man.

‘But now we must go back to Perak, and that is a weary way to paddle. If we had waited till Pau Amma had gone out of Pusat Tasek and come home, the water would have carried us there by itself.’ ‘You are lazy,’ said the Eldest Magician. ‘So your children shall be lazy. They shall be the laziest people in the world. They shall be called the Malazy—the lazy people;’ and he held up his finger to the Moon and said, ‘O Fisherman, here is the Man too lazy to row home. Pull his canoe home with your line, Fisherman.’ ‘No,’ said the Man. ‘If I am to be lazy all my days, let the Sea work for me twice a day for ever. That will save paddling.’ And the Eldest Magician laughed and said, ‘Payah kun’ (That is right). And the Rat of the Moon stopped biting the line; and the Fisherman let his line down till it touched the Sea, and he pulled the whole deep Sea along, past the Island of Bintang, past Singapore, past Malacca, past Selangor, till the canoe whirled into the mouth of the Perak River again. ‘Kun?’ said the Fisherman of the Moon. ‘Payah kun,’ said the Eldest Magician. ‘See now that you pull the Sea twice a day and twice a night for ever, so that the Malazy fishermen may be saved paddling. But be careful not to do it too hard, or I shall make a magic on you as I did to Pau Amma.’ Then they all went up the Perak River and went to bed, Best Beloved. From that day to this the Moon has always pulled the sea up and down and made what we call the tides. Sometimes the Fisher of the Sea pulls a little too hard, and then we get spring tides; and sometimes he pulls a little too softly, and then we get what are called neap-tides; but nearly always he is careful, because of the Eldest Magician. Which conclusion about the Eldest Magician does this excerpt support? The Eldest Magician has a good sense of humor. The Eldest Magician does not like human beings. The Eldest Magician likes to order people around. The Eldest Magician is insecure and needs approval.

The conclusion about the Eldest Magician the excerpt supports is the one in the first alternative: "The Eldest Magician has a good sense of humor." He calls the Man lazy in a very humorous way, and even tells the man his children are lazy too, and names them Malazy- the lazy people. The fact the Eldest Magician named the Man's children in such an amusing way, joking with Malaysia, the country, shows how good his sense of humor is. Instead of being mad at the Eldest Magician, the Man went along with his joking and replied: "If I am to be lazy all my days, let the Sea work for me twice a day for ever. That will save paddling." At that, the Eldest Magician laughed and agreed it was fair enough, which showed his nice sense of humor, as well as the good vibes within him.

How does Bradbury create irony in his story "The Pedestrian"?
Agata [3.3K]
The answer is C. A case of dramatic irony is the point at which the police submit the main normal individual in the city. Dramatic irony is the point at which the per user knows something that the characters don't, and the character's activities bring about something startling. In the story, we understand that the storyteller is unique in relation to whatever is left of his general public.

Read the excerpt from "Yearbook.”
Alex787 [66]

Answer: Character vs self.

Explanation: In the given excerpt from "Yearbook" we can see the description of a girl that thinks of herself as an individual and also is afraid to be open and share with other people, because her best friend moved to another city and left her, because of these reasons she spends her time alone. This is the description of a conflict of the character vs herself, because the issues she have are within her, not with the society or another character.

imagine that you are narayana Murthy.write an entry of the dairy of the day,on the day the IIT result was released
stira [4]

Wednesday, April 20.

Dear Diary.

Today has been a bittersweet day, because I have a confusion of happy and sad thoughts even though it has made me strange. In fact, I'm sad about the direction my life is taking. That's because, today, I received the news that I was approved iiT, my classification was one of the best, which made me very happy. However, I soon received the news that I could not start the course in IIT, which ended all my happiness, left me distressed and aimless. That's because my father said that we don't have enough economic conditions to pay the fees that the course requires.

Although I am sad, I know that I cannot change that and I need to compose myself and strive to change this situation and be able to project my dreams again.
